A "Phenomenal Woman" :

    On April 18,2009, Dr. Maya Angelou will be holding a lecture on campus in the MPR of the Union, sponsored by UPB. She is considered a remarkable Renaissance woman who is hailed as one of the greatest voices of contemporary literature. Dr. Angelou is a world-renowned poet, educator, historian, actress, playwright, civil-rights activist, producer, director, and author of many inspiring works including "I know Why the Caged Bird Sings", "Even the Stars Look Lonesome", and "Phenomenal Woman".
